College Football Power Rankings after Week 5 | nbc sports | Oct 18, 2023

LET'S START

Despite Notre Dame-Duke, Week 5 didn't quite match the drama of Week 4, but it tried.

The Georgia Bulldogs and USC Trojans, two top-10 teams, escaped road upsets, while the Oregon Ducks overcame a slow start to thrash Stanford.

And although several of the top college football teams in the nation (Florida State, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Miami) had a bye week, other unbeaten teams vying to remain in the top 25 had to say goodbye.

Texas drilled Kansas, which had hoped to advance. Syracuse lost to Clemson by 17 points while trying to go 5-0 and gain a ranking slot.

The Blue Devils' last-second loss to Notre Dame kept them from being flawless, but it did not drop them out of the top 25.

In the meantime, Kentucky advanced to the round of 16 with a rout of Florida, and Missouri maintained its perfect record.

Here's how the Power Rankings play out after Week 5 result

No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (5-0) No. 2 Michigan Wolverines (5-0) No. 3 Texas Longhorns (5-0) No. 4 Florida State Seminoles (4-0) No. 5 Washington Huskies (5-0) No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0) No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions (5-0) No. 8 Oregon Ducks (5-0) No. 9 USC Trojans (5-0) No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide (4-1)
